Description: Officer Plunkett was struck and killed while patrolling on his department motorcycle. Officer Plunkett suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries when a car pulled out in front of him causing him to lose control of his motorcycle. Officer Plunkett was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered severe head injuries. Officer Plunkett was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
