Description: Officer Patterson died from injuries he suffered about three weeks earlier while helping a military police officer arrest an escaped patient from the Veterans Administration facility. During the arrest, Officer Patterson suffered a ruptured left groin. He died from complications after surgery for the injury.Attempting an arrest. Died during surgery following a kick to the groin. Injury occurred while taking a patient into custody.
