Description: Trooper Parker responded to a back-up call where fellow troopers were in pursuit of a robbery suspect. Trooper Parker had stopped his patrol vehicle on the shoulder of the highway to wait for the pursuit. As the pursuing vehicle approached the road block the suspect intentionally drove into the patrol unit, causing it to burst into flames. Trooper Parker was trapped inside the burning patrol unit and died. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life without parole plus 25 years for failure to stop.
