Description: Special Agent Peters was killed by an improvised explosive device while conducting an enforcement operation in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Special Agent Peters was participating in a special operations night raid aimed at apprehending a high-value Taliban target. Agent Peters was embedded with the SOF unit to perform specialized law enforcement capabilities, such as evidence collection and site exploitation. After an initial suicide vest exploded, insurgents detonated a series of IEDs inside the compound, killing Agent Peters.
