Description: Sheriff Pierce arrested a suspect wanted for bootlegging. As Sheriff Pierce escorted the suspect to the patrol car, the suspect grabbed Sheriff Pierce's weapon and shot him five times with his own gun. Sheriff Pierce died the next day. The suspect was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
