Description: Police Officer Phillips succumbed to an accidental gunshot wound inflicted by a fellow officer inside the police headquarters. Officer Phillips was training a new officer on quick draw techniques with unloaded firearms. After they had finished, the new officer left the room momentarily and Officer Phillips reloaded both weapons. When the new officer returned to the room he picked his gun up off the table and tried the technique of quick draw again, unaware that the weapons were reloaded with live ammo. The gun discharged and Officer Phillips was shot in the chest. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries three days later on Christmas Day. Inadvertent fire.
