Description: Sheriff Pearson was shot as he attempted to arrest a suspect on a charge of liquor possession. Sheriff Pearson was shot three times in the abdomen at close range. Sheriff Pearson was transported to the hospital where he died. The suspect, who was wounded by responding officers, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder. Two other suspects were also charged as accessories to the crime.
