Description: Police Officer Palmer was inadvertently shot in the back when his service revolver struck the pavement and discharged. Officer Palmer was in pursuit of two speeding vehicles when his motorcycle was struck by a third vehicle. Officer Palmer was thrown to the pavement and his gun discharged. Officer Palmer was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries the next day.
