Description: Patrolman Phippenney was shot when he answered a disturbance call at the local saloon regarding a group of rowdy patrons. Patrolman Phippenney attempted to arrest one of the suspects and a struggle ensued. Patrolman Phippenney was shot in the back and died shortly after. The suspects escaped.
