Description: Patrolman Phipps was struck in the chest and injured as he attempted to subdue an intoxicated man at a dinner dance. Patrolman Phipps went home where he remained in bed and was attended to by a physician. Patrolman Phipps died of a heart attack due to chest contusion and strain four days later on June 10, 1942.
