Description: Deputy Sheriff Pickett was shot as he and other deputies pursued a wanted suspect in a vehicular pursuit. One of the occupants of the vehicle exited and fled with Officer Pickett and his K-9 in pursuit. The suspect turned and shot Officer Pickett and other responding officers were able to return fire and wounded the suspect and he was taken into custody and charged with murder. Officer Pickett was transported to the hospital where he later died.
