Description: Police Officer Pitts was shot and killed while conducting a homicide investigation. Officer Pitts and several other detectives were fired upon when they approached an apartment complex to confront a suspect believed to be involved in the homicide. Officer Pitts was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect committed suicide.
