Description: First Sergeant Portaro suffered a heart attack after assisting with the entry level students??® physical fitness training inside the gymnasium at the West Virginia State Police Academy. Sergeant Portaro left the gymnasium and began a training run when he collapsed. Sergeant Portaro was transported to the hospital where he died.
