Description: Lieutenant Pritchard was shot while off-duty as he attempted to intervene in a family dispute. Lieutenant Pritchard accompanied his cousin to Midwest City, Oklahoma to retrieve a vehicle that his cousin's son had taken without permission. Lieutenant Pritchard remained in the vehicle as the father went into the hotel room to speak to his son. A quarrel ensued and the son produced a firearm and fatally shot his father. Lieutenant Pritchard responded to the sound of the gunshot and as he entered the room to make an arrest, he was also fatally shot. Two suspects were arrested and charged with murder.
