Description: Detective Pearson was shot and killed as he and other members of the agency's Special Response Unit attempted to apprehend a murder suspect. The suspect was determined to have been involved in a homicide in a neighboring county. Shots were exchanged as officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, and Detective Pearson was fatally shot. The suspect was shot several times and killed in the shootout.
