Description: Sergeant Paudert and Police Officer Thomas Evans were shot and killed during a routine traffic stop. Sergeant Paudert provided back-up for Police Officer Evans who had pulled over a van for a traffic violation. The suspects exited the vehicle and assaulted Police Officer Evans. Both officers were shot in an exchange of gunfire by one of the suspects who was wielding an AK-47. Sergeant Paudert died at the scene. Police Officer Evans was pronounced dead at the hospital. Both suspects were shot and killed by law enforcement.
