Description: Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Pate was on duty during a railroad strike in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Deputy Pate was assigned to the railroad yard with three other deputies. When one of the deputies stood up, his gun fell from its holster and discharged, striking Deputy Pate in the head. Deputy Pate died of his head wound 2 months later. [Inadvertent fire]
