Description: Officer Preece had arrested a suspect on 11/03/42 after an altercation at City Hall where local elections were being held. The suspect, who was under the influence of alcohol, sought revenge the following day with a gun and shot Officer Preece, who returned the fire. Both men died as a result of the shootout.
