Description: Police Officer Pitakos was shot while in pursuit of a suspect who had just robbed a pawn shop at gunpoint. Although Officer Pitakos was shot in the chest, he returned fire and wounded the suspect. Officer Pitakos was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was shot and killed by responding officers.
