Description: Private Perkins and Ranger Joe Place were ambushed by a group of gun smugglers. Private Perkins was shot in the stomach and returned fire killing his assailant. Another smuggler followed Private Perkins into the brush and beat him to death. Ranger Place was able to escape his attackers.
