Description: Officer Pitt succumbed to injuries sustained three days earlier in an automobile accident. Officer Pitt was monitoring traffic from his patrol unit during a religious Easter procession when an unauthorized motor scooter attempted to enter the procession. Officer Pitt exited his patrol vehicle to stop the approaching scooter when he realized his patrol unit was in gear. The patrol car struck the motor scooter and Officer Pitt. He was transported to a local hospital where he died three days later.
