Description: Game Wardens Peare and Nattkemper were working along the river in search of violators of the fish laws. The river was at a high stage with a high wind blowing. Suddenly the boat filled with water from the waves and started sinking. Both wardens tried to swim back to shore but did not make it. Their bodies were recovered weeks later in the stormy waters.
