Description: Sheriff Posey suffered a heart attack while raiding a liquor still in the deep woods with a party of other officers. When he complained of chest pains, the officers summoned an ambulance by short-wave radio. Because of the difficult terrain, the ambulance could not drive all the way to the site where Sheriff Posey lay stricken. He was placed on a stretcher and was being carried to the ambulance when he died.
