Description: Officers Peterson and Harry Stewart were in pursuit of a drunk driver when their cruiser struck an obstacle in the road then hit a telephone pole. Officer Peterson suffered a crushed shoulder. He died the next month on October 31st due to a coronary embolus. The death certificate cited the injury suffered in the automobile accident as the contributing factor in his death.
