Description: Patrolman Paris was at home and off-duty when he heard a neighbor's screams for help and stepped into the hallway with his revolver drawn. The woman ran out of her apartment followed by the burglar who was also brandishing a gun. Patrolman Paris and the burglar exchanged gunfire. Patrolman Paris shot and killed the burglar but suffered two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Patrolman Paris was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A second suspect who had fled the apartment was captured and arrested.
