Description: Deputy Quarles was killed in an automobile accident while responding to a call at the Laurens Speedway. While attempting to negotiate a sharp turn on AB Jacks Road, the department cruiser left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. Deputy Quarles was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
