Description: Sheriff Queener and Deputy Travis Gibson (54-W: 28) were stabbed after they arrested two suspects on counterfeiting charges. The suspects were placed on horseback behind each officer, without a prior search or restraints. The suspects attacked both Deputy Gibson and Sheriff Queener and stabbed them to death with a concealed bowie knife. The suspects escaped but were later arrested, tried in a court of law and executed.
