Description: Deputy Sheriff Quillin was ambushed and shot while off-duty. Deputy Quillin was transported to the hospital where he died the next day. Miller County Sheriff, R.W. Turquette, concluded in his investigation that Deputy Quillin was targeted by moonshiners because they believed that he was sharing information about liquor still locations with his brother, Jess Quillin who was a federal prohibition officer. A suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
