Description: Chief of Police Russell was struck and killed as he flagged a speeding motorist. Marion County deputies were in pursuit of the speeding car when Chief Russell stepped out into the street in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The car swerved and struck Chief Russell, throwing him 10 feet. Chief Russell died at the scene.
