Description: While patrolling the Pennsylvania Railroad Yard, Patrolman Reinke noticed two dim figures crawling up an embankment. As he took cover he was shot once in the leg. He returned fire and saw one of the bandits drop. After realizing that he had been shot three times, Patrolman Reinke crawled down the embankment, flagged down a passing motorist who transported him to the police station. He died a few minutes after giving account of the incident. One suspect was found dead, the other suspect got away.
