Description: Detective Ridley was shot and killed while attempting to break up a fight while off-duty. Detective Ridley observed a fight between two homeless men and was attacked when he identified himself as an officer and tried to intervene. During the struggle, Detective Ridley's gun fell from its holster. As he retrieved the gun, two on duty officers, who had just arrived at the scene, mistook Detective Ridley for the suspect and shot him numerous times (friendly fire).
