Description: Deputy Sheriff Ray was killed in a single-vehicle automobile accident while responding to a violent domestic disturbance call. Deputy Ray was the passenger in a patrol car being driven by a fellow officer. The officers swerved around a tree in the road which caused the car to spin out of control and crash into another tree. Deputy Ray suffered critical injuries in the crash and died in the hospital emergency room. The other officer was treated at the hospital and released.
