Description: Master Trooper Rich was shot and killed by a suspect on US-24, in Wabash, Indiana. Trooper Rich had stopped to help a motorist that he believed was stranded. Unbeknownst to Trooper Rich, the vehicle was stolen and the suspect was armed. As Trooper Rich approached the vehicle, the suspect shot him fatally in the chest and then killed himself.
