Description: On May 27, 2011, Police Officer Roberts died as a direct result of complications from a gunshot wound he sustained 26 years earlier while handling an arrested suspect. On March 29, 1985, Officer Roberts assisted in the arrest of two suspects who had hijacked and robbed a shuttle bus at the Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado. One of the suspects pulled a handgun and shot Officer Roberts in the head. The suspect was apprehended and charged.
