Description: Deputy Robertson was fatally wounded when he stopped an illegal gambling session. Deputy Robertson did not arrest any of the men but told them to report the Sheriff's Office the next day. As he turned to leave, he was shot through the door by a man who had been posted as the look-out. Deputy Robertson died of his injuries the next day. His assailant was convicted of murder and served 30 years of a life sentence before being paroled.
