Description: Deputy Sheriff Ridings was killed in a boating accident while on marine patrol on Lake Anna with a fellow deputy. The patrol boat was struck by a large wake which caused it to turn sideways. Deputy Ridings struck his head on the boat and was knocked unconscious. His partner was thrown overboard. Both deputies were transported to the hospital where Deputy Ridings succumbed to his injuries. His partner received non-threatening injuries.
