Description: Officer Reeves and Officer Akia Scott were assigned to the Newark School District. Both officers were in uniform when they approached a vehicle and began to talk to the occupants when shots were fired. Officer Reeves was shot fatally and Officer Scott returned fire and apprehended the suspects. Officer Reeves was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officer Scott was wounded but survived.
