Description: Corporal Rains and Officer Collis Woods answered a domestic disturbance call concerning a man with a gun. When they arrived at the residence, they staked out their positions and ordered the suspect to surrender. The suspect brandished a weapon at the officers and Officer Woods fired a round at the suspect. The shotgun pellets ricocheted and struck Corporal Rains in the face and chest. Corporal Rains was pronounced dead at the scene. (friendly fire)
