Description: Sergeant Riggenbach was shot while responding to a report of an armed man walking down a street with a shotgun. The suspect had shot and killed a civilian and set a house on fire. The suspect opened fire on the responding officers and shot three of them. Sergeant Riggenbach died at the scene. The two other officers survived. Officers returned fire and wounded the suspect.
