Description: Officer Rose was shot at the Los Angeles Police Department, while walking to his car. A local citizen had gone to the police station to seek shelter from her abusive husband. The suspect followed his wife to the police station and opened fire on everyone in the parking lot. The officers returned fire and killed the suspect. Unfortunately, a stray bullet struck Officer Rose in the head; he was discovered, after the shooting, on the ground by his partner. The investigation determined that the bullet that killed Officer Rose was fired from a fellow officers' weapon. Officer Rose remained under doctors' care and was admitted to the Northwoods Rehabilitation Center until his death 10 years later. Friendly Fire.
