Description: Detective Rauft was shot and killed during an undercover drug transaction. Detective Rauft conducted a drug buy of 50 pounds of marijuana then signaled for back-up. As law enforcement officers conducted the raid, gunfire erupted. Detective Rauft was fatally shot in the chest. Officer Ulricksen recovered from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right arm. Five suspects were arrested. Officer Rauft's assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.
