Description: Officer Rosa was stopping cars on Capital Avenue Northeast when a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old juvenile struck him from behind. Battle Creek Officers had set up a roadblock in an attempt to capture a pair of gunmen suspected of fatally shooting Eaton County deputy, Dean Foster. The driver claimed he didn't see Officer Rosa until he struck him. Officer Rosa died later that day of a head injury.
