Description: Deputy Rye was on routine patrol when he came across a bank robbery in progress. A gunfight erupted in the streets between Deputy Rye and the burglars. Deputy Rye died at the scene. Over $40,000 in Liberty bonds were stolen. The suspects were not apprehended.
