Description: Trooper Roelle was shot and killed following a traffic pursuit. The suspect had a dispute with his girlfriend while driving north on Parks Highway near Willow, Alaska. The woman jumped out of the moving vehicle, leaving her two children behind. The suspect then led law enforcement officials on a high speed chase with speeds that exceeded 100 mph. Troopers were ordered to call off the pursuit and apprehend the suspect at his residence. Trooper Roelle was shot in the head as he attempted to enter the residence. After shooting Trooper Roelle, the suspect shot his two children ages 1 and 3 before committing suicide.
