Description: Deputy Ritchie was shot with his own gun as he attempted to arrest six men for public intoxication. As the deputies struggled with the suspects, they were disarmed and shot. Deputy Ritchie was shot in the head and died at the scene. Deputy Michael Cornett was also wounded but survived. Six suspects were arrested and charged with murder.
