Description: Officer Raney was shot and killed during a riot by soldiers following the arrest of two members of their Company. Nineteen mutinous soldiers were hanged and sixty-three received life sentences in federal prison. Officers Rufus Daniels, E G Meinke, Horace Moody and Ross Patton were also killed in this incident.
