Description: Superintendent Reynolds was shot and killed while in his office by a suspended patrolman who was demanding to be put back to work. The officer was arrested and charged with murder after recovering from four gunshot wounds. He was later sentenced to an insane asylum. Captain Garry Mullen was also shot and killed in this incident by fellow officers when they mistakenly thought he was the shooter when in fact it was his brother, Terrence.
