Description: Deputy Ridgell suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after responding to an officer needs assistance call. Deputy Ridgell was off duty when he was contacted by dispatch. The on-call deputy was holding a burglary suspect at gun point and needed assistance. Deputy Ridgell rushed to the scene and assisted with the arrest. Once the suspect was handcuffed, and placed in a jail, Deputy Ridgell returned home. While taking a bath, Deputy Ridgell collapsed. He was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
