Description: Deputy Ruggles was shot and killed as he and other posse members attempted to arrest the notorious Jesse Underwood Gang in Concord, Kentucky. The Underwood Gang members were known horse thieves and were wanted in several jurisdictions. Deputy Ruggles was shot in the head and killed by gang leader Jesse Underwood.
