Description: Marshal Reives and Officer Pickens responded to a burglary in progress. While searching for suspects Marshal Reives saw two suspects behind some bushes and commanded them to come out. Suspects shot the marshal in the hand, and as he fell, he was shot again in the back. Marshal Reives died from after doctors tried to remove the bullet from his spinal cord. Officer Pickens was not injured.
